Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American actor and singer is extremely popular. As a child she was subjected to racial taunts by American citizens of all races. After she participated in an event at school and was given high praise for her singing at the age of 9, the girl began to gain confidence. This experience did not just help to boost her confidence, but also changed her outlook on life. In 1992, she received her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. She was 23 when she had her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail, were her biggest break. Her most memorable break came from her performance as The Lady of The Lake, in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her performance. She gained more recognition by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Alongside being an acclaimed singer she also released her own solo album and an extended piece. Also, she is an activist and works extensively in the field of LGBT rights.
