She is most well-known for her character Jen Scotts as part of Power Rangers Time Force Ted Mosby's younger sister Heather on How I Met Your Mother. Within her first four years, she started to act in shows put on by high schools run by her parents. Eight years later, Cahill took singing and dancing courses. In 1991, she was Miss Pre-Teen Virginia and first third in Miss Junior America. Her acting continued throughout her time in high school at Brooke Point High School where she was the head of several clubs, which included The Honor Thespians group. Cahill scored the top marks among her classmates in the drama audition at the Governors School for the Arts in her sophomore year. She was 16 when she took home the overall award in the Actors Models Talent for Christ contest. She was also selected for the Barton and Williams Dance Company, winning individual and company awards. In the year following her high school graduation, 1998 she attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York with an educational and performing arts scholarship. In 1998 she graduated from college, and went on to pursue a profession acting as a full-time actress at the age of 24 in Los Angeles.
