She was awarded the show's four Daytime Emmy award nominations for her work. McCain started writing a daily column in the Daily Mail after leaving The View. She also penned four books The Story of My Dad John McCain in 2008 Dirty Sexy Politics in 2010 America You Sexy Bitch: A Heartfelt Love Letter to Freedom, co-written with Michael Ian Black in 2012 as well as Bad Republican in 2022.
